============================================== CONNECTED SMP EVENTS BOT - TERMS OF SERVICE ============================================== Last updated: 16/09/26 (UK Format) These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Connected SMP Events Discord bot (the "Bot"), operated by Zonquix ("Operator," "we," "us"). By inviting the Bot to a server or using its commands, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Bot. 1. DESCRIPTION OF THE BOT The Bot provides cross-server event announcements for Discord communities. Its features include: - /makeevent - sends an event announcement (message, server IP, optional @everyone or @here ping) to other servers the Bot is a member of - /setannouncechannel - sets the channel in the local server where announcements are received - /ping - displays the Bot's latency Access to announcement commands is restricted to users with the Manage Server permission. Broadcasting reach is limited by server size rules set by the Operator, servers may be subject to a cooldown between announcements, and the Operator may designate certain servers (by guild ID) as exempt from these limits. 2. ELIGIBILITY You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, whichever is higher) and comply with the Discord Terms of Service (https://discord.com/terms) and Discord Community Guidelines (https://discord.com/guidelines). The Bot is intended for use by server administrators, not individual members. 3. AUTHORIZATION By using /makeevent, you confirm that: - You have permission to act on behalf of the server you are commanding from - You are authorized to send announcements to the target server(s) you select, or that the target communities have opted in by adding the Bot - You will not use the Bot to send announcements to servers that have not agreed to receive them Target servers can opt out at any time by removing the Bot (Section 8). 4. ACCEPTABLE USE You agree NOT to use the Bot to: - Send spam, scams, phishing links, or malicious server IPs - Harass, threaten, or target any individual or community - Distribute content that violates Discord's Community Guidelines - Circumvent server size limits, cooldowns, or the whitelist system - Advertise commercial services without the consent of the receiving servers The Operator may refuse, block, or remove the Bot from any server that violates these rules, and may report violations to Discord. 5. DATA STORAGE The Bot stores the minimum data needed to function. Full details are in our Privacy Policy, provided alongside these Terms: - Server (guild) IDs - used for targeting announcements, enforcing limits, and whitelist management - Announcement channel IDs - used to deliver announcements to the correct channel - Cooldown timestamps - used to enforce the announcement cooldown The Bot does NOT store message content, user IDs, usernames, IP addresses entered in announcements, or any personal data. All data resides locally on the Operator's privately hosted machine. When the Bot is removed from a server, that server's stored data is deleted automatically. You may also request removal of your server's stored data by contacting the Operator. 6. AVAILABILITY The Bot is provided on a best-effort, hobby basis. Uptime, announcement delivery, and pings are NOT guaranteed, and the Bot may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time without notice. 7. RESPONSIBILITY FOR CONTENT Announcements are created by users, not by the Operator. The Operator is not responsible for the accuracy, legality, or content of announcements (including event descriptions and server IPs). If you believe an announcement was sent to your server improperly, remove the Bot and contact the Operator. 8. OPTING OUT A server can stop receiving announcements at any time by kicking the Bot. Doing so also automatically deletes that server's stored data. Server owners may additionally contact the Operator to request confirmation of deletion or to be blocked from future invitations. 9. DISCLAIMERS AND LIABILITY The Bot is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Operator is not liable for any damages, lost pings, missed events, or data loss arising from use of or inability to use the Bot. 10. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS The Operator may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Bot after changes are posted constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be reflected in the Last updated date above. 11. CONTACT Questions, data requests, or reports, contact: "Zonquix" (Discord username.)
